Kirkpatrick & Kinslow Film "The Sound Of Identity" Wins Coveted Award.

August 31, 2020

Celebrating great LGBTQ film since 1998, the OUTshine Film Festival in Miami, FL, has awarded the latest Kirkpatrick & Kinslow film one of its highest honors. The Sound Of Identity has received the "Programmer's Award For Excellence" which crosses all film categories. The feature length documentary was also recognized with a jury award.

The Sound Of Identity documents the first transgender woman in history to lead a professional opera company, as Don Giovanni. And, it happened in one of the reddest states in the U-S: in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The story of Lucia Lucas was beautifully put to film by Los Angeles based Film Director James Kicklighter, who brought in Director of Photography Jonathan Pope & Composer Nicolas Repetto to complement his vision.

Film Producers Russ Kirkpatrick & Andy Kinslow are now working on distribution plans for North American & international audiences, and with other film festivals who have requested the film for screening.
